Treeless Mountain takes a radically different approach to the deprivations of childhood than Slumdog Millionaire, yet these films from the other side of the world will connect with audiences wherever they are shown. --Tom Charity, CNN

One of the best I've seen5
This is a great series, it has everything. The characters are excellent and the story has a lot of twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. Misil is so bad she is good. The woman who plays her Go Hyun Jung is so amazing, she plays the villainess to perfection. Really worth watching and entertaining. Looking forward to watching the next Volume.

And thanks to Amazon, the first dvds were defective and once reported they were replaced in days.
Fabulous, addicting, & worth every penny5
This is volume 1 of a 3 volume dvd set of the TV series airing in 2009-2010 in the US. This is a top quality south korean tv drama which is receiving rave reviews globally. This month (dec '09), Volume 2 of this set has just come out... As soon as Vol 3 comes out I'm getting it too!

This story is extremely addictive! - I warn you it will make you stay up till the wee hours if you are not extremely disciplined. At time of this writing the US broadcast of the weekly series is probably somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd volume. I bought the 1st volume because I missed the earlier episodes, and because it's well worth owning and sharing with your family. As with other MBC, KBS or SBS historical korean dramas of this decade, this video set is clearly and expertly translated with english subtitling (including all idioms and colloquialisms to english equivalents). Compared to american tv historical dramas, this as with similar kdramas is more addicting, higher production quality, more accurate historical period recreation, and MUCH longer lasting enjoyment. Plenty of eye candy of all types, characters with depth, intellgent script, interwoven plot lines, cliffhangers, martial arts fights and wars (not gross), political intrigue (not dry), family and romance themes, country and individual economic struggles, etc.

Yes, as with american dramas, these script writers take many liberties with the historical true story in order to flesh out historical gaps and to make a riveting plot line - and they succeed - it's such a great story we really don't care - we just enjoy the story... and then many non-korean viewers get very interested to learn about the actual history behind the fictional drama! So we learn the real history one way or the other.)

Good Drama5
Excellent cast. Wonderful acting. Lee Da Hae pulled off the comedic scenes nicely, and everyone else within the drama also did a very good job. From the get-go I was immersed into the story of what is "My Girl". The plotline is your typical drama, with quarreling, jealously, lovers left and right and whatnot, but this is a must see if you are a fan of any of the actors. Being rated as one of the top ten dramas in Korea in 2006, I can see why this has made it up there. Check it out and I am assured you shall be pleased. Read plently of summaries, reviews; get a feel for this drama and you'll fall in love with it.
My Favorite KDrama So Far5
This was the first KDrama that I finished, and I have to admit that the first episode didn't draw me in but I persisted and I am so glad that I did. I LOVE this KDrama.. even more than Full House. It's a cute drama filled with laughter and poignant moments. The characters are all great in their roles. The best part is that nobody dies in this drama. I always hate when the main character dies from some illness...

You're Beautiful You're Funny You're Hooked!5
I first saw this Korean Drama back when it aired on SBS in late 2009 here in the States. I was flipping the channels and only stopped because I adore Asian women, so I started watching the show. It was in English subtitles and the show was going pretty well so I kept watching. It's one of those moments where you can't change the channel and You're Hooked.

It's a Story about a young-soon to be Nun that has to take the place of her twin brother who is signing a major deal with a boy group called A.N.Jell. She must become her brother until he gets back from the US where he is having surgery over an accident he had. You follow The Group from behind the scenes and get a glimpse of their life.

Inception (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)
Directed by Christopher Nolan

Product Description

Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in this sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best there is at extraction: stealing valuable secrets inside the subconscious during the mind’s vulnerable dream state. His skill has made him a coveted player in industrial espionage but also has made him a fugitive and cost him dearly. Now he may get a second chance if he can do the impossible: inception, planting an idea rather than stealing one. If they succeed, Cobb and his team could pull off the perfect crime. But no planning or expertise can prepare them for a dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy only Cobb could have seen coming.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
Science-fiction features often involve time travel or strange worlds. In Christopher Nolan's heist thriller Inception, the concepts converge through the realm of dreams. With his trusty associate, Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, a fine foil), Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio, in a role that recalls Shutter Island) steals ideas for clients from the minds of competitors. Fallen on hard times, he's become estranged from his family and hopes one last extraction will set things right. Along comes Saito (Ken Watanabe, Batman Begins), who hires Cobb to plant an idea in the mind of energy magnate Fischer (Cillian Murphy, another Batman vet). Less experienced with the art of inception, Cobb ropes in an architecture student (Ellen Page), a chemist (Dileep Rao), and a forger (Tom Hardy) for assistance. During their preparations, Page's Ariadne stumbles upon a secret that may jeopardize the entire operation: Cobb is losing the ability to control his subconscious (Marion Cotillard plays a figure from his past). Until this point, the scenario can be confusing, since the action begins inside a dream before returning to reality. Then, after the team gets to Fischer, three dream states play out at once, resulting in four narratives, including events in the real world. It all makes sense within the rules Nolan establishes, but the impatient may find themselves much like Guy Pearce in Memento: completely confused. If Inception doesn't hit the same heights as The Dark Knight, Nolan's finest film to date, it's a gravity-defying spectacular to rival Dark City and The Matrix. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
